Lotus is the Co-Founder of Bears for Cares. She is the author of the award-winning children's books More Beautiful Than Heaven, Billie the Octopus, A Thanksgiving for the Turkeys, Jenny the Chimpanzee, and Friends Lift You Up, all in collaboration with Bears for Cares to educate kids on the importance and beauty of nature, and motivate them to help protect the Earth, and everything on it. She has been published in a variety of media outlets including Thrive Global, Green Child Magazine, Kindness Magazine, Light of Consciousness, and more. Lotus has been featured in media outlets including L.A. Parent, The Chronogram, Saving Earth, and featured as a youth activist by PETA, and by organizations including the Jane Goodall Institute, Mission Blue and World Oceans Day, among others. Her books Friends Lift You Up and Jenny the Chimpanzee received the Mom's Gold Choice Gold Award and an endorsement from Dr. Jane Goodall. She is also a singer/songwriter and poet. jazmin kay
Jazmin is the Co-Founder of Bears for Cares with her sister, Lotus. She is the former Founding Executive Director of 18by Vote, a civic education nonprofit that engaged more than 3.3 million young people in civic participation.
Jazmin holds an M.P.A. with a specialization in Management and Leadership from New York University, where she was a Bohnett Public Service Fellow, and graduated summa cum laude with special honors in Political Science from The George Washington University. Her writings have been published in The Wall Street Journal, HuffPost, MTV, Seventeen Magazine, VICE, The Nation, Teen Vogue, The U.S. Department of State Official Blog, and The White House Blog under President Barack Obama.
